Biomedical imaging sequences include all the needed information for motion analysis or compensation. Motion tracking of structures present in the sequence allows estimating motion objectively and quantitatively. From the different methods reported in the literature we will concentrate on non-rigid registration methods as they establish spatial correspondences between different images of the sequence robustly and efficiently. On the other hand these methods are very appropriate for the two problems treated, motion estimation and motion compensation. The adjustment of the methods for each of the applications requires redesigning slightly the methodology and tuning the parameters. Results will be presented in different application areas such as myocardial motion estimation, both using ultrasound and MR data, and motion compensation of cardiac and prostate data of dynamic MR perfusion studles. | |
