The design and operation of communication systems that include fade mitigation techniques (FMTs) needs the use of in-depth information regarding the expected propagation effects. This information can be obtained from propagation experiments. The equipment used in these experiments often combines, within the same experimental setup, a beacon receiver and a radiometer working in the same frequency band. In this paper, the simultaneous use of both types of measurements is discussed from a practical point of view, taking into account the Ka-band measurements carried out at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain. | |
