This chapter concentrates on the advantages that virtual reality can offer to the Healthcare Sector. After a brief introduction, the authors explain the areas where VR techniques can be successfully applied. They describe some existing VR applications in healthcare sector. The developments of a VR surgery simulator, with all the aspects that make this process challenging, are presented in their chapter. They analyze the difficulties specific to healthcare environments while designing and development of VR applications. They conclude with future prospects of VR in the Healthcare Sector.
