Abstract

This paper overviews the fundamentals of the thermophotovoltaic systems, which convert infrared radition into electricity by means of photovoltaic cells. First, the basic configuration and the main system components are discussed, and a short description f their most important applications is carried out. Besides, the manufacture of gallium antimonide infrared cells is presented, and their typical optical and electrical characteristics are analyzed. | |
