Much has been written about the Configuration Management (CM) in software, and very little about his interest in the Aircraft Industry, where the complexity for an airplane is increasing. The pieces of the aircraft are manufactured in different countries, even the same parts are assembled in different countries and factories. Designs in different materials and increasingly lightweight, but do not increase the complexity, and it connects to customers seeking very different versions of the same model, which are changing over the years. The main objective of the work is to indicate areas of future improvement in the current CM which can be useful, and show possible trends in the light of developments which will mark the Aircraft Industry. We must also talk about the risks involved. CM is a discipline that arises from the need to ensure control in the complex process of relationships. The study recommends work in parallel when the time saved is an important question. Several organizations start the work with advanced information (or several proposals, if they were necessary), with more robustness. | |
