Abstract
The performance of millimeter-wave propagation is degraded during wet weather. In particular, if radomes are used to protect the antenna system, layers of liquid water attach to the radome and modify the wave-fronts through absorption and scattering. The effect of water on the antenna is a possible error source in the measurement of attenuation in the radiolink path. The main objective of this paper is to present the wet antenna effects on propagation experiments for short horizontal radiolinks, through the analysis of the systematic differences that have been found between predictions based on physical models and measurements.
