\n We are a multi-disciplinary group of 7 professors and researchers from the Agricultural Production (HTSE for Agronomy, Food and Biosystems) and Mining and Geological Engineering (HTSE for Mines and Energy) Departments, as well as well-known Universities abroad, such as the RMIT University (Australia). Within the Moncloa International Excellence Campus we are a part of the Global Change and New Energy cluster.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

\n With respect to the main first line of research, our team has extensive experience in manufacturing biochar and hydochar from organic waste, and evaluating its effect on the soil's physical, chemical and biological properties, along with its use as a growing media. We are currently carrying out more extensive research on direct application of this material in the field, in collaboration with researchers from the Treatment reuse of organic waste Group at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences of the Higher Board of Agricultural Research, the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete (Greece), the University of Aveiro (Portugal), and the RMIT University of Melbourne (Australia).<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

\n With respect to the second main line of research, we have worked with various companies and bodies, mainly in the field of agricultural insurance, but also on water accounting. We have contributed to calculating the risk premium for adverse climate phenomena (problems with frost, heat waves, hail, recurring rainfall and lack of water) on crops such as corn, cotton, cereals, potatoes and new potatoes, fruit, particularly almonds, sub-tropical and ornamental, etc.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

\n We are currently taking part in 8 research projects, in Spain and internationally.
