A destacar deflectores de haces l&aacute;ser 1D y 2D sin partes m&oacute;viles para uso en sat&eacute;lites.&nbsp;\nDispositivos OLED. The super bright semiconductor lasers, traditionally developed in the group, have, under a European project, been applied to LIDAR systems on satellites to detect atmospheric pollutants and greenhouse gases.<\/span>\n            <\/p>\n            <p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n                <span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: small;\">It has begun to work with lyotropic liquid crystals, which is a family that has been very under-researched until now, which turn out to be ideal with materials that are hydrophilic, or put up with the presence of water, are needed. Under another European project, a family of biosensors were developed to detect pathogenic micro-organisms in various body fluids and at various points in food production chains. The process, which enables detection of specific pathogens at a glance, with a very simple disposable kit, with no need for an electricity supply or optical support systems, was patented.<\/span>\n            <\/p>\n            <p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n                <span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: small;\">A company has been founded to exploit a patent for document security. The company has received several awards and subsidies, including the Act\u00faaUPM first prize, the Wayra award from Telef\u00f3nica, the Accenture prize and two Torres Quevedo nominations. We manufacture and profile devices based on nematic, polymeric and lyotropic liquid crystals with applications for document security devices, activewave guides and biosensors to detect pathogens in the fields of health and food.\n                <\/li>\n                <li>\n                    Optical phase networks for switching and routing light beams. 1D and 2D laser beam deflectors with no moving parts for use in satellites are noteworthy.\n                <\/li>\n                <li>\n                    OLED devices. We do research on new basic or dopant materials, some of which are electroluminescent liquid crystals.\n                <\/li>\n                <li>\n                    Laser diode modelling and profiling.
