\n We are a group consisting of researchers belonging to the HTS of IT Engineers and the HTS for Telecommunications Engineers, and experts in the fields of applied mathematics, physics and computer sciences, amongst others.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

\n Our group is a part of the Computer Simulation Research Centre, which is a research centre bringing together researchers from the Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid, Complutense and Rey Juan Carlos Universities. \n The group has installed the first quantum key distribution point-to-point link in the country, jointly with Telef\u00f3nica R&D. We have constructed a QKD network prototype to research QKD integration into standard and commercial optical communications networks. The prototype proposes the separation of quantum and classic channels on the same fibre optic, and routing using a common infrastructure with standard equipment. The results of this line of research have given rise to several patents.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

\n Members of the group have proposed innovative methods for error correction in QKD (efficient, high speed information reconciliation) that have given rise to a patent, registration of a software program, and several collaborations with businesses and universities internationally.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n
