\n We are a group of researchers, technical staff ad support staff from various Schools at the UPM: HTSE for Mines and Energy, HTSE for Agronomy, Food and Biosystems, HTS for Buildings and HTS for Civil Engineering. Due to our multi-disciplinary nature, we cover multiple lines of research, as can be seen from our presence in three clusters at the Moncloa IEC: Global Change and New Energy, Materials for the Future and Heritage.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

\n The group's work is directed towards correct application of sustainable construction principles in building projects and works, and infrastructure in general, and agroindustrial buildings and rural infrastructure works in particular, as well as the extraction and full use of mineral, hydrogeological and energy resources; urban, industrial and inert waste management; and the restoration, rehabilitation and control of natural resources impacted by construction-related industrial activity.<\/span>\n \n \n giSCI-UPM has a sustained track record in taking part in many research projects and contracts, in Spain, Europe and Latin America. \n The giSCI-UPM's key objective centres on research, development and optimisation of construction and industrial techniques that respect the environment, encourage efficient energy use, facilitate the conservation of available resources with their reuse and recycling, and reduce the environmental impact caused by the use of construction materials, products, systems and technologies.\n <\/p>\n
