In order to improve integrated safety models of road vehicles, it has been recently defined a phase of interaction between systems of primary and secondary safety. These systems reuse information provided by primary systems to achieve the secondary systems? objectives. It is essential to discriminate whether a collision is avoidable or not and to calculate the available time before the crash happens. This paper shows a method that improves other simplified methods found in the literature to calculate TTC (Time to collision). Some examples are explained in order to show the benefits of this method. | |
