The present paper describes the results of a measurement campaign carried out in a tunnel in Spain located along the Madrid-Segovia-Valladolid high-speed line, with cross passages between the two tubes every 250 m. The pressure time histories are compared with numerical predictions obtained by means of a 1D code that is an implementation of the Method of Characteristics to solve the mass, energy and momentum conservation equations. Pressure differences that act on the doors at cross passages are discussed and compared with design values that have been used in different countries. | |
