We experimentally study visual perception of the Necker cube as the essential example of an ambiguous figure. Using its wire contrast as a control parameter we construct bifurcation diagrams and perform the bifurcation analysis that allows us to estimate the level of cognitive noise inherent to brain neural cells activity, which induces intermittent switches between two coexisting perception states. The results of our numerical simulations of a simple perception stochastic model are in good agreement with our psychological experiments. | |
