| The geometric conditions under which observability estimates for the waves and Schrödinger equations on a compact manifold hold are discussed. We will present a simple example in which observability for eigenfucntions of the Laplace operator on the manifold holds under a scrictly weaker condition than that is necessary for observability for the corresponding Schrödinger and wave equations. | |
