The dynamical coupling of radiation and hydrodynamics in the context of simulations of stellar jets and laboratory radiative shocks

Abstract
I present simulations of stellar jets interacting the interstellar medium. I will first briefly describe HERACLES, a 3D radiation-hydrodynamics code, and the model of jets used in these simulations. I will then highlight the crucial differences between considering just cooling or radiative transfer to model such a problem. In particular, I will show that radiation-hydrodynamics could lead to the jet collimation and the creation of a secundary jet.
