Año:2008

Áreas de investigación
  • Educación física y deporte

Datos
Descripción
HEALTH(A)WARE will develop an experienced based learning and teaching approach for physical and health education which is going to result in a training module and training material kit for P.E. teachers during training and following qualification. * P.E. TEACHERS are to be enabled to implement the topic of health in an adequate and innovative way into secondary schools. * PHYSICAL EDUCATION as a subject lends itself naturally to the transfer of health relevant objectives into schools. It guarantees an experienced-based health education, which relies on relevant and effective content. * INTERDISCIPLINARITY to link P.E. to other subjects including the social and natural sciences in order to generate knowledge and new teaching methods, which ensure participatory and interactive teaching and learning, focussing on health promoting activities and life-skills. * INTERCULTURAL APPROACH is intended to deliver a detailed view of the socio-cultural implications of health as a transversal issue and is therefore going to promote mutual understanding within the European Union. * COLLABORATION between universities, schools and external health and public health experts in order to profit from each other in determining the content of a practice-based-education. * TEAMWORK between P.E. students and qualified P.E. teachers by integrating a training module into the study programme of the associated universities and by likewise serving as a module for in-service training. THE ULTIMATE OBJECTIVE is to promote the well-being of the school population by an awareness of the importance of an active healthy lifestyle and by the introduction of movement based activities which go beyond the usual current remit of sport coaching and Physical Education teaching.
