| When a new technical challenge, intimately related to these ancient bridges, appears ¿ in this case, proposing and defining adequate empirical criteria for sustainable solutions in the prolongation and preservation of their service life span, the technical pioneers confronted with this problem keep on being guided by the blueprint of the same conceptual metaphor.
