| Origin and evolution of the roof truss and the implications of its existence in the advances of the construction systems up to the present, justifying its mechanic start up, needing covered by its own existence and giving contribution its assistances, as well as the constructive formal aspects in our days. The roof truss is the culmination of a historic evolution, due to hundreds and hundreds of master builders, which in a certain moment makes the appearance of the roof truss possible. Because of this, the first step lies on classified and explains lower forms and old roof structures that will explain its origin. The birth of the roof truss, as asserted before, is the answer to an efficiency problem, to build with the least quantity of material. If the evolution of the roofs is in relation with the use of the building that covers, in base to obtain more useful surface with the most simple construction systems, is reached the point were eliminating the supports on the upper head of the par horizontal forces appear. Opposite of this forcer, the simplest sudden answer is to increase the wall of supporting mass for thwarting by internal friction. However, with the length increase, the forces increase too and then the mass of the wall is too much that is much better to find a solution for absorbing the horizontal efforts, because of this born the truss rod. This truss rod, in the beginnings, is connected to the drives that the wall receives, placed sequencely not being synchronized with other elements of the roof. Until this moment the technology of the roof truss has been understood just in one kind of material, the wood. With the Industrial Revolution starts the using of steel as structural material. Although, all this new technology was overcame with the development of the reinforced concrete. This progress has had consequences on the roof truss and in the different uses of it. There are other aspects to think about as the possible material, the uses and the influences on the environment. The appearances of the fair worries about our environment determine the use of ones or other materials, which made us return to the origins of the roof truss: the wood. The | |
