Ericsson introduces, within the framework of its research and innovation activites in Identity Management, the concept of Identity Broker. It naturally evolves from the broker concept already implemented in the telecom area towards the identity management field providing a novel business model that enables the user to consume services and contents in the Internet in a safer and more convenient way. The identity broker combines different types of identity management technologies, such as SAML v2.0, Liberty Alliance ID-WSF, openID, Windows CardSpace, Higgins¿ enabling service and content provider to access user identity information in a transparent however privacy-respectful way. It also allows the user, through the Privacy Self-Service concept, to control his/her identity information through a single point. Finally, it also takes advantage from its close relationship to network providers, exploiting unique SIM-based authentication technologies such a GAA/GBA. | |
