The first steps of the cement hydration are critical to the development of the mechanical and durables properties of the construction materials. Usually, these steps are analyzed only by some physical properties, as the setting time and the head of hydration. Other analytical methods are based on the instrumental techniques, like X-ray diffraction, but these test methods need a special sample preparation and special equipments. On the other hand, it is not possible to apply these methods in-situ. The uses of non-destructive techniques permit to apply its in-situ, using specific sensors to monitoring the behavior of the material during the first steps of the hydration. First of all it is necessary to analyze its non-destructive techniques and define the measure parameters. In the present work the parameters and the test conditions are identified and are analyzed the results of hydration of cements without and with slag, monitoring the hydration process together with the crystalline phase?s formation, by X-ray diffraction. The joint analysis of the results obtained with destructive and non-destructive techniques permits to analyze the potentiality of the last ones and to define the conditions to use its. | |
