The definition oftechnicalspecifications andthecorrespondinglaboratoryproceduresarenecessary steps inordertoassurethequalityofthedevicespriortobeinstalledinSolarHomeSystems(SHS). ToclarifyandunifycriteriaaEuropeanprojectsupportedthedevelopmentoftheUniversalTechnical StandardforSolarHomeSystems(UTSfSHS).Itsprinciplesweretogeneratesimpleandaffordable technical requirementstobeoptimizedinordertofacilitatetheimplementationoftestswithbasicand simple laboratorytoolsevenonthesameSHSelectrification programcountries.Theserequirements coverthemainaspectsofthistypeofinstallationsanditslightingchapterwasdevelopedbasedonthe most usedtechnologyatthattime: fluorescent tubesandCFLs.However,withtheconsolidationofthe new LEDsolidstatelightingdevices,particularattentionisbeinggiventothismatterandnew proceduresarerequired.Inthisworkwedevelopacompletesetoftechnicalspecifications andtest proceduresthathavebeendesignedwithintheframeoftheUTSfSHS,basedonanintensereviewofthe scientific andtechnicalpublicationsrelatedtoLEDlightingandtheirpracticalapplication.Theyapplyto lamp reliability,performanceandsafetyundernormal,extremeandabnormaloperatingconditionsasa simple butcompletequalitymetertoolforanyLEDbulb. These testshavebeenappliedtoagroupof14low-costdirectcurrentLEDbulbsandthe accomplishment oftheproposedrequirementsisanalyzed. | |
