The paper presents and discusses the results of an online shopping experiment included in a representative sample survey of Internet consumers in the UK which took place in August 2012 in the UK. The Stated Preference Discrete Choice Experiment (SPDCE) methodology was used to estimate the value of personal information in a hypothetical situation but as close as possible to a real-life context.
