This paper quantifies seasonal effects on mushroom prices and the eventual stationarity of mushroom prices. The main objective of this paper is to test the existence of unit roots in mushroom price time series, during the period 2002-2013. The existence of unit roots can be useful to estimate the relevance of past mushroom prices in the formation of new mushroom prices. If no influence from past mushroom prices exists, that should imply that mushroom prices are mainly determined by the existing market, the existing environmental conditions, and that the significance of past events could be very weak or non existent. | |
