Good connectivity to the high-speed rail (HSR) network is a crucial added value in urban agglomerations (Garmendia et al. 2011; Guirao and Campa 2014; Ureña et al. 2009). This applies not only to locations with an HSR station, but also to nearby locations with good access to the HSR network.
