Descripción
The lemon model has become the primary mechanism for the representation of lexical data on the Semantic Web. The lemon model has been further developed in the context of the W3C OntoLex community group, resulting in the new OntoLex-Lemon model, recently published as a W3C report. In this paper, we describe the development and future outlooks for this model as well as briefly review some of its current applications. The recent evolution of lemon into OntoLex-Lemon, in the context of the community group, has led to improvements on the model that further extends its application domain from formal applications such as question answering and semantic parsing to the representation of general machine-readable dictionaries, including WordNet and digitized versions of existing dictionaries. We look at two use cases of the OntoLex-Lemon model: in representing dictionaries and in the WordNet Collaborative Interlingual Index. Finally, we consider the future of the OntoLex-Lemon model, which we intend to continue to develop and have recently identified areas that increase the applicability and value of the model to more users.
