A study of the properties of Yb1-xYxCuAl series of alloys is reported. The electronic coefficient ranges from 340 mJ/molK2 (x =0) to 250 mJ/molYbK2 (x =0.8). The electrical resistivity shows an evolution from Kondo lattice for x = 0 to the single impurity regime for x ? 0.8. For x ? 0.6 the low temperature resistivity data shows the AT2 dependence, characteristic of Fermi liquid behavior with the A coefficient reducing from 0.053 (x= 0) to 0.0139 (x = 0.6), and scaling with the electronic coefficient as 10?6. At low temperatures (T < 15 K), the magnetic susceptibility decreases from 0.0308 emu/molYbOe (x=0) to 0.0274 emu/molYbOe (x = 0.8), according to Wilson ratio. The results are consistent with an increase of TK, in agreement with the Doniach diagram. | |
