This paper focuses on the advanced solutions tested within the ?energy management strategy and auxiliaries? priority topic. These solutions and strategies try to improve bus energy and thermal system management, especially by enhancing the efficiency of auxiliaries and other on-board sub-systems; for instance, by achieving a reduction in the amount of energy required for passenger cabin heating, ventilation and cooling. The demonstrations involved in this priority topic have been tested at the following sites: Barcelona (Spain), Gothenburg (Sweden), Lyon (France) and Stuttgart (Germany). The different solutions will be evaluated utilising a methodology developed under the EBSF_2 project, based on the performance assessment through a series of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) collected before (or in a control scenario) and after the implementation of the innovations. The outcomes will identify which solutions attain the best results in achieving the energy efficiency objective. | |
