As PV modules are exposed to outdoor conditions, inspection proceedings are needed in order to evaluate the possible degradation that modules can suffer. The main inspection methods look for non-invasive procedures that allow obtaining inspection data while modules are operating on-field. Photoluminescence (PL) uses recombination phenomena that take place while the module is exposed at light to get information of the cell performance. A method for inspecting PV modules at adverse (low irradiance) light conditions based on outdoor PL is proposed in this work. The outdoor PL measurements obtained are compared against electroluminescence measurements and indoor PL in order to contrast the accuracy of the measurements. | |
