Abstract

| We have developed a new radio-echo sounding system for radioglaciological applications. It consists of transmitter, receiver, synchronisation system and control unit with digital recording system. The main advantages of the system are its short sampling interval (selectable; either 2.5 or 5.0 ns), high number of samples per trace (4000), trace stacking capabilities from 256 to 4096-fold, fast recording in flash memory and fast real-time signal processing. | |
