The object of this research has been the assessment of the CO2 capture process through carbonation ¿ calcination cycles. It represents one of the technological options of CO2 capture in post combustion and it consists in the separation of the CO2 at high temperatures by means of carbonation. Afterwards, the formed carbonate is calcinated, in order to recover the sorbent on the one hand (which is re-used to realize the carbonation and then starts a new cycle) and to obtain a pure CO2 stream on the other hand, which can be geologically stored. This process is suitable for large stationary sources of CO2. | |
