Objetives

General Objective: To train professionals who combine a solid background in the basic aspects upon those that support the production of modern and sustainable agricultural and cattle-rearing systems with a vision that integrates the global aspects of the bio-economy.

Specific Objectives
To train professionals capable of:

  • Evaluating and distinguishing the different mechanisms responsible for the development of plants and animals with a view to designing and using advanced technologies and strategies in crop and animal production.
  • Familiarising themselves with the work and experimental methods under real conditions, acquiring the capacity to carry out experiments and/or design applications independently as well as describing, quantifying, analysing and evaluating the results obtained critically.
  • Developing sustainable strategies for crop and animal production both efficiently and in accordance with the resources available, together with the carrying out the management and commercialisation of the agricultural products and services.
  • Knowing and analysing the inter-relationships between the different ecological, technological, economic and social perspectives in relation to Agricultural and Bio-economic Sciences.
  • Developing the entrepreneurial capacity to generate initiatives in the agricultural environment as well as the transfer of knowledge to society.
  • Knowing the fundaments of the new technologies necessary to carry out research, production management and the development suitable for the new challenges in the field of agriculture, including the ethical and bioethical aspects of this area.
  • Carrying out their activity in a coordinated manner with other professionals in multidisciplinary groups as well as communicating the fundamental aspects of their professional activity to others in their area, similar areas and to the non-specialist public.
