The Applied Intelligence & Data Mining research group (AIDA: http://aida.etsisi.upm.es) at School of Computer Systems Engineering involves 22 people: 14 of them hold a PhD in Computer Science, and 1 in Sociology. The group has participated in 50+ competitive projects (national and international), has published 200+ journals and 400+ conference papers. The expertise of AIDA includes: Machine Learning (Clustering, Hidden Markov Models, Classification and Deep Learning), Computational Intelligence (Evolutionary computation, Swarm Intelligence), Pattern and Process modelling and mining, Graph Computing, Social Network Analysis, and Behavioural Human-based modelling and mining. The AIDA group is currently developing research and innovation activities in areas such as Cyber Security and Cyber Intelligence, Fake news and disinformation detection, Aerospace, and Information Fusion technologies.
