UPM has extensive experience in the planning and execution of activities linked to the promotion of technological innovation and technology transfer to the productive industry. To that end, UPM has specialised units the aim of which is to manage, promote and market these activities developed by the university community (professors, researchers and students) in order to transfer them to public administrations, city councils, NGOs, companies and society in general.
These units are:
TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION SUPPORT CENTRE
Its actions and accumulated experience promote, through different programmes, technological and innovative entrepreneurship, from the detection of talent, business ideas and disruptive technologies, to the incubation of projects, creation of start-ups and subsequent acceleration. It is committed to an international approach, in collaboration with and supported by key agents and businesses in the innovative ecosystem. The Technological Innovation Support Centre is also a reference point in innovation and entrepreneurship training activities at UPM
RESEARCH RESULTS TRANSFER OFFICE
The RRTO is an instrument to connect the research activity generated at UPM with society. The RRTO is structured in units specialised in different aspects of transfer, which in turn are interrelated and work together to achieve this objective. The units that make up the RRTO are the Intellectual-Industrial Property Unit, the Commercialisation Unit, Public-Private Collaboration, the University-Business Chair and the Scientific Culture Unit.
INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS OFFICE
The mission of the International Projects Office is to promote the participation of UPM in competitive R&I funding programmes around the world, especially in Europe, facilitating the internationalisation of research groups and connections with the most excellent public or private institutions. To that end, the IPO offers support throughout the entire life cycle of the R&I project, from the initial conception of the idea to the final justification.
The Business Centre at UPM’s Science and Technology Park is the result of the initiative and innovative and investigative spirit of our university community. The purpose of this centre is to foster collaboration with the industrial environment and partnerships between public and private entities that choose to be strategic partners of UPM in research and innovation and are installed in one of UPM’s Business Centre premises.
SERVICIOS DE INVESTIGACIÓN
UPM’s research service aims to promote the university’s participation in research grant award processes, the comprehensive management of research projects and the attraction and retention of research talent.
