4. Language for the writing and defence of the PhD thesis
The thesis can be written and defended in either Spanish or English, although the PhD Commission of the UPM can authorise, at the request of the PhD student and with the agreement of the academic commission of the PhD program, the writing and presentation of the thesis in a different language if it is duly justified and reasoned. In the circumstances of the thesis being written in a language different for the aforementioned ones, it will be necessary to present an additional summary in the aforementioned languages
