Presentation

The Master's Degree in Geospatial Intelligence is an official postgraduate qualification designed to train highly qualified specialists in the analysis, integration, exploitation, and advanced visualization of geospatial information. The program responds to the growing demand for professionals capable of transforming large volumes of spatial data into useful knowledge for strategic decision-making in complex and dynamic contexts.

Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) is now one of the fundamental technological pillars for addressing global challenges such as environmental sustainability, smart urban planning, natural resource management, security, emergency response, and the development of critical infrastructure. In this context, the master's program offers advanced training that combines Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Remote Sensing, Earth Observation, 3D modeling, and the development of geoportals and web services.

The degree is offered online, eliminating geographical barriers and facilitating access for both international students and working professionals who wish to update or redirect their profile towards the field of Geospatial Intelligence. This format is fully aligned with the digital nature of the sector, replicating real-world work environments based on collaborative platforms, cloud computing, open data, and professional tools widely used in the industry.

The master's program has a strong research focus, providing access to doctoral programs and fostering the development of critical thinking and technological innovation. Graduates will be prepared to critically analyze, anticipate, and generate new knowledge in response to the challenges posed by emerging job opportunities in the geospatial field. Their ability to explore and validate innovative solutions will allow them to contribute to the development of professions that do not yet exist, which will be shaped by the maturity of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and sectors undergoing profound changes, such as Geospatial Business Intelligence and Location-Based Services.

The graduate will possess the necessary qualifications to work in the processing, analysis, and representation of geoinformation using a variety of tools, and to design and implement solutions for leveraging geoinformation to solve specific problems in engineering and other areas of society. They will acquire the following skills:

  • Designing spatial databases and geospatial big data systems.
  • Implementing advanced geospatial data science solutions, applying machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and spatiotemporal analysis.
  • Creating services in Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) and geoportals to facilitate their use.
  • Designing and implementing web applications and integrated map services.
  • Applying spectral and multivariate analysis processes to remote sensing images for cartographic applications.
  • Integrating time series captured by geolocated sensor networks for analysis and application in decision-making.
Interuniversity No
Observations The final assessments are in-person, as stated in the degree program description. An assessment schedule will be provided to allow students residing outside Madrid to complete the final assessments in as few trips as possible.
