Presentation

The Double Master Degree in Industrial Engineering and in Industrial Electronics aims to combine the integral formation of the Industrial Engineer with a specialization in the field of electronics, one of the technological fields of greater presence and applicability in the world today.

The students of the Double Master Degree acquire the professional attributions for the exercise of the Industrial Engineer profession and simultaneously an excellent specialization that allow the graduates to carry out activities in the design, manufacture and maintenance of electronic components, equipment and systems applied to multiple industrial sectors. Also, at the end of the double master degree, the students will be able to access to doctoral studies.

The Double Master Degree in Industrial Engineering and in Industrial Electronics is offered to students who have completed the Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering (Grado en Ingeniería en Tecnologías Industriales, GITI). It consists of a total of 141 ECTS, of which 102 ECTS are specific to the MS in Industrial Engineering (72 ECTS of compulsory subjects, 18 ECTS of elective-track subjects and 12 ECTS of Master Thesis) and 39 ECTS are specific to the MS in Industrial Electronics.

In this way, students who complete this double degree will study the 72 compulsory ECTS of the MS in Industrial Engineering plus the 12 ECTS of the Master Thesis, totaling 84 ECTS, which would comply with the Orden CIN 325/2009 de 9 de febrero de 2009 and, therefore, will obtain the necessary competences to claim the attributions of the Industrial Engineer profession. They will also complete the remaining 36 ECTS with elective subjects to obtain the 120 ECTS required to obtain a qualification according to the UPM, with the particularity that these 36 ECTS will be in the field of industrial electronics.

To achieve the 60 ECTS of the MS in Industrial Electronics, students will take 21 ECTS common to the MS in Industrial Engineering (of which 15 correspond to the Track of Automation and Electronics) and 39 specific to the Master in Industrial Electronics (6 of compulsory subjects, 9-15 of the chosen professional or research track subjects, 6-12 of elective subjects and 12 of Master Thesis).
