Presentation

The Dual Master in Telecommunications Engineering and Master in Network Engineering and Telematic Services aims to combine comprehensive training in Information and Communication Technologies in the field of Telecommunications with a more specific training in computer networks and services to allow students to focus their professional activity in the Telematics Engineering sector. In this way, the students who enrol this dual master will complete the compulsory 60 ECTS of the Master in Telecommunications Engineering plus the 30 ECTS of the final Master's work, in total 90 ECTS with which they would be complying with the provisions of Order CIN 355/2009 of February 9, 2009 and, therefore, they will obtain the necessary skills to claim the powers of the profession of telecommunications engineer. In addition, they will complete the remaining 30 ECTS with optional subjects to obtain the 120 ECTS necessary to obtain an enabling degree according to the UPM and according to the report presented by the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación, but in this case these 30 ECTS will come from the field of Telematics Engineering (24 ECTS from the Telematics II specialty area and 6 specific ECTS from the Master in Network Engineering and Telematic Services).

A student of the Dual Master would complete 114 ECTS belonging to the Master in Telecommunications Engineering and 60 ECTS belonging to the Master in Network Engineering and Telematic Services. From those 174 ECTS, there are 36 ECTS that are common to both masters, resulting in 138 ECTS. With another 6 ECTS chosen from a set of optional subjects of the Master in Network Engineering and Telematic Services, the student would complete a total of 144 ECTS to obtain the Dual Master degree.
