E.U. Aeronautics Engineering

The School of Technical Aeronautical Engineering was created in December 1939 within the Academia Militar de Ingenieros Aeronáuticos del Ejército del Aire (Military Academy of Aeronautical Engineers of the Air Force). In 1942, the possibility of creating a Civil School was authorised. The School of Technical Aeronautical Engineering was created on the 21st August 1956, which later became the School of Aeronautical Engineering Technicians with the Law for the Planning of Technical Education on the 20th July 1957.

On the 9th May 1962 the Study plans for The University College of Technical Aeronautical Engineering were approved, with the first intake of students of Aeronautical Engineering Technicians arriving in October of that year. With the Law for the Reorganization of Technical Education on the 29th March 1964, the qualification became that of Technical Aeronautical Engineering given by The University College of Technical Aeronautical Engineering.

The new Study plan was created on the 27th October 1969 with five current specializations: Aircraft, Aero-engines, Navigation and Traffic Control, Airports and Air Transport, Aeronautical Materials and Air Armaments.

On the 9th May 1972, The University College of Technical Aeronautical Engineering became part of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
