The UPM delegation included Ricardo Albarracín Sánchez, Assistant to the Vice-Rector for Mobility and European Programs; Susana Toledano Anguita, Head of Service at the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization; and Piera Maresca, Deputy Director of International Relations at ETSIDI. They participated in bilateral meetings with national and international institutions at the "Study in Spain" stand of SEPIE (the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education) and attended the Portugal & Spain Networking Reception, organized by SEPIE and the Portuguese Erasmus+ National Agency, to strengthen Iberian cooperation in internationalization, innovation, and academic mobility.

During the conference, UPM leveraged the opportunity to strengthen strategic alliances, promote double degree programs, and establish new Erasmus+ mobility agreements. More than 10 meetings per day were held with partner universities and institutions from countries including Argentina, Austria, Colombia, France, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Turkey.

In this context, EELISA was present at the UPM stand and also had its own space, shared with the ENHANCE Alliance and the European University of Technology EUt+ under the joint banner Alliances4EthicalTech. EELISA was one of more than 35 European university alliances present at EAIE, showcasing the evolution and impact of the European Universities Initiative, a flagship program of the European Commission.

“Our presence at EAIE has been essential to continue building a globally connected UPM. This event allowed us to strengthen ties with our partner universities and explore new opportunities for our students and staff to gain high-impact international experiences,” said Ricardo Albarracín Sánchez.

Participation in EAIE 2025 reaffirms UPM’s commitment to its internationalization strategy and engineering education, consolidating its role as a European benchmark in training professionals with a global vision.
