The laboratory is located on the ground floor of the centre and has a surface area of 300 m2. It has two data-recording areas and central area for the staff; the ceiling height is 5 metres. Data-recording area 1 measures 20 metres by 5 metres and has two pits for the installation of force plates. Data-recording area 2 measures 12 metres by 5 metres, with one pit for the installation of force plates. It has a Vicon 3D motion capture system with six high-speed cameras, two Kistler piezoelectric dynamometric platforms and one Delsys wireless surface electromyography system with 12 channels.
Sports science, Health
It makes it possible to analyse the movements, joint loads and muscular activity of any movement in the field of sport (running, ball strikes, golf swings), health (gait analysis, studying muscular imbalances, changes in the locomotor apparatus) and work (ergonomics, posture, repetitive movements, handling loads), with the aim of improving performance and preventing injuries.
Professional and amateur sport and patients with musculoskeletal injuries.
The Sports Biomechanics Laboratory is part of the Community of Madrid Laboratory and Infrastructure Network, with reference number 239. Under the supervision and with the approval of the Laboratory Network Advisory Group, it was accorded the status of level 2. - TRACEABILITY. The researchers belong to the Department of Health and Human Performance.
