The IPTC is an R&D Centre in digital and communication technologies, created by the UPM from the experience of several recognised research groups in Electronics, Communications, Networks, Computing and SW. Its objective is to generate the ideal environment to face scientific challenges with a multidisciplinary perspective, in cooperation with companies and other entities, in order to generate technology of economic and social value. Every year, the Centre has more than 150 active competitive projects and another 50 with companies.
Currently, the Centre, made up of more than 160 researchers, is intensely active in data technologies (AI, dataspaces, digital twins, cybersecurity, etc.), 5G/6G and radio, and technologies for the metaverse (neuromorphic HW, interaction, NLP or 3D reconstruction), lines in which it is promoting differentiating research infrastructures.
