Our teaching and research work is the fruit of the work of eight professors and researchers, all belonging to the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences - INEF. It is important to point out that three of the four departments at the Faculty are represented in our group, as this shows the richness and complexity involved in our field of study ¿specific populations.

Physical/Sports Activity in Specific Populations
AFIPE
Structure: Research Groups
Our group works on providing knowledge about certain populations of a specific nature, that is to say, temporary or unusual situations in human beings' lives (infancy, pregnancy and disability). With constant work in collaboration with academic, health and sports entities, we seek to examine the effects of physical exercise and sports on these kinds of populations. Therefore, our work focusses on the following lines of research:
- Physical activity and sports for people with disabilities.
- School age physical activity and sports.
- Physical exercise during pregnancy.
- Physical activity and sports for professionals.
- Physical activity and sports innovation.
- Body Language in the field of Physical Education
- null
- Our group was one of the main ones involved in creating the Inclusive Sports Research Centre (CEDI), which is a point of reference in dissemination, research, know-how and best practices in physical activities and adapted sports geared towards the health of people with disabilities. The knowledge generated is conveyed in various masters and post-graduate studies in Spain, Belgium, Finland and Brazil, as well research collaborations with Iceland, Ireland and Israel.
- Furthermore, along with several health institutions in the Madrid area, we design and carry out Random Clinical Trials, as the main tool for assisting pregnant women. We also work in collaboration with university bodies in Argentina and Canada.
- We are leading a project with four Latin American universities to study physical education students' motivation for physical and sports activities, preparing strategies for teaching that improve the quality of education.
- In collaboration with Sports Federations and Clubs, we analyse the competition, along with the effect of training on professional sportspeople's performance and health.
- We foster meeting and reflection forums amongst university teachers and amongst Secondary School teachers to develop the expressive, communicative, creative and aesthetic skills relating to their students' motor skills practice, using evidence obtained after doing the research.
