We are a group of 11 people who are linked to various centres and bodies: the HTSE for Agronomy, Food and Biosystems at the UPM; the National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA); and the Centre for Biotechnology and Plant Genomics (CBPG), which is a joint research centre between the UPM and the INIA.

Regulatory Networks for Development and Stress Response in Plants
Structure: Research Groups
We do our work at the CBPG, carrying out some of the centre's lines of research: Regulatory networks in seeds: Integration of development, metabolism and environmental conditions.
Our research group received a €1,000,000 grant from the INSPIRE programme, which promotes ambitious, innovative initiatives in the bioenergy sector that try to confront environmental and energy challenges that are a threat to society. The project ¿OPTISOL¿ aims to improve the extractability of glucose from solanaceae without affecting the quality and quantity of the tubers and fruits.
Some of the group are members of a Marie Curie ITN European network, sponsored by the European Commission.
We consider that transferring research results to companies and society is an important part of our work. An example of our efforts to carry out this work is development of a patent ¿Transgenic plants showing higher tolerance to abiotic stress¿ and collaboration with the scientific outreach work done by the CBPG, the university and the INIA.
