Graduates from universities outside of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA)

 

Here you can check the countries belonging to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

Students should apply via the Application form for Official Master's Degrees, you can apply for only one Master's program in each call. If it is denied, you may repeat the request in the following calls.

  • Passport, DNI (Spanish national ID card) or NIE (Foreigner ID Number for residents in Spain).
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • The academic documents depend on the chosen master's degree, each program may also have specific access requirements.

    Note 1: Invalid documents for academic purposes downloaded from web pages shall NOT be acceptable.
    Note 2: All the documents should be duly translated if issued in a language other than Spanish or English.

  1. If you have completed your Bachelor's degree:

    1. Accredited degree certificate or proof of having applied for diploma

    2. Official Transcript of records of your first degree, stating the subjects taken and grades attained.
      Must be attached the Equivalence of average grades of university studies carried out in foreign centers that are managed online through the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

  2. If you do NOT have completed your Bachelor's degree: According to the UPM Enrollment Regulations, you can apply (In no case can the Master's degree be obtained without having previously completed the Bachelor's degree)

    2. Official Transcript of records of your degree stating credits passed and credits necessary for your Bachelor's degree

      IMPORTANT NOTE:

      Students who do NOT have completed their Bachelor's degree can apply, and pay their Tuition Fee Deposit and enrollment on a conditional basis, and must meet one of the following requirements before September 30:

      1. Accredited degree certificate or proof of having applied for diploma.

      2. Official Transcript of records of your degree stating credits passed and grades attained.
        Must be attached the Equivalence of average grades of university studies carried out in foreign centers that are managed online through the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

      You must send the required documentation to tramitacion.master.oficial@upm.esOtherwise, admission, and enrollment if any, will be cancelled.



  3. Students applying for any master's degree listed in Appendix I:

    Are obliged to submit a Level B2 English language proficiency certificate, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

    If you are applying for the MSc in Teacher Training, the required accreditation is Level B1 in a foreign language.


  4. The academic documentation must be duly legalized or homologated depending on the master program you apply for:

    • Students applying for any Master's degree offering professional certification:
      MSc in Aerospace Engineering, MSc in Agro-Engineering, MSc in Architecture, MSc in Civil Engineering, MSc in Mining Engineering, MSc in Forestry Engineering, MSc in Industrial Engineering, MSc in Naval and Oceanic Engineering, MSc in Telecommunications Engineering.
      Or any dual program with them.

      Are required to submit the Resolution on the recognition / Homologation of your degree according to which you are eligible for the UPM master's degree program. This recognition is issued by the Spanish Ministry of Universities.

    • For the other master's degrees:

      Are required to submit the university degree certificate or diploma, and transcript of records duly legalized.

      Legalization is usually implemented through the Hague Apostille for signatory countries. For non-signatory countries of the Apostille of the Hague it could be implemented through diplomatic channels by the stamp of the Embassies and Consulates of Spain in the country of issue of your diploma.


  5. Studets must pay their Tuition Fee Deposit in the prescribed dates in the Calendar in case of being admitted in the first and second call (not necessary for the rest of calls). Otherwise admission will be canceled.

    The amount of the Tuition Fee Deposit is 150 euros, which will later be deducted from the amount of the enrollment. There will be no refund in case of not enrollment.

    The procedure would be:
    a) Request an @alumnos.upm.es email account if you do not have one yet.
    b) Access the Self-enrolment platform (Gestión de Recibos) to pay, just online with bank card.
