Plant immunity triggered by cell wall derived glycans:
mechanisms of glycans recognition and activation of disease resistance
responses in plants (crops). Identification of specific cell wall structures (glycans) from fungi/oomycetes (Molecular Associated Molecular Patterns,
MAMPs) or plant (Damage Associated Molecular Patterns, DAMPs) and their
corresponding plant Pattern Recognition Receptors (PRRs), which modulate
plants (crops) immune responses and disease resistance. Structural
characterization of the recognition mechanism of these glycnas
(DAMPs/MAMPs) by Leucine-Rich Repeat Malectin Receptor Kinases (LRRMAL
RKs) and determination of protein complexes/downstream components
triggering disease resistance responses mediated LRR-MAL RK/glycan
recognition.
